Dear College Official,

We are once again writing to request your help in updating your school’s profile in the Fiske Guide to Colleges

By completing the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2025 institutional questionnaire, providing comments on your school’s write-up, and enlisting students to complete the student questionnaire, you are ensuring that we have the most up-to-date and accurate information for your school. We hope that you’ll take advantage of this important opportunity—your full participation and feedback are critical to keeping your school’s profile fresh, timely, and accurate.

We are also mindful that, amid these transformative times for higher education, our obligations to both our readers and the colleges described in the Fiske Guide are, if anything, greater than ever. As the country’s bestselling—and most respected—college guide, the Fiske Guide is well positioned to serve both readers and colleges, including your own. As such, we would like to call your attention to some noteworthy changes in the institutional questionnaire:

  • In light of public discourse around this issue, we’ve added a question about your school’s efforts to provide a more inclusive environment for trans and nonbinary students.
  • We are continuing to ask about your school’s ongoing efforts to combat the problem of systemic racism, as well as any resources or support your institution provides to address the growing concerns around student mental health.
  • As a reminder, the Fiske Guide is no longer reporting SAT and ACT score ranges, effective with the 2022 edition. You can read more about our decision in the Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed, or see our full press release here.

Below, you will find your school’s log-in information for accessing the Fiske website, your unique Student Access Code, and instructions for completing the requested materials for the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2025 by our deadline of May 19, 2023.

A few more things to remember:

  • When completing your institutional questionnaire, please use the data from your school's 2022–2023 Common Data Set.
  • Please keep in mind that only certain questions pull data from your CDS, and we ask that you still complete the remaining portions of the questionnaire.
  • We also ask that you offer comments on your school’s most recent write-up. Write-ups are available to review now. When you are logged in, you can access the write-up by clicking the “Write-Up” button in the User Menu on the left-hand side of the homepage.
  • Don’t forget to invite 6 to 8 undergraduate students to complete the student questionnaires at https://fiske.sourcebookscollege.com/index.php/student-questionnaire. When you are logged in, you will see the Student Access Code displayed in the lower menu on the left-hand side of the home page; the Student Access Code is also provided to you by email.
  • Please send any contact information changes or updates to our editorial team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • If there are other members of your staff, either within your department or in another department, who will be responsible for completing or contributing to your materials for the Fiske Guide 2025, please feel free to share your log-in username and password. You will not need to acquire a secondary username or password for additional staff members.

Thank you in advance for your time and efforts in updating the information on your school. We look forward to receiving your institutional questionnaire, write-up comments, and student responses no later than May 19, 2023. Please let us know if you have any comments or questions.

Sincerely,

Edward B. Fiske
